As some of you may know, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In our religion, we don’t baptize members when they are babies; instead, children can choose to be baptized when they are eight years old. Being baptized is a big step in one’s life, and it is essential because baptism is when we vow to follow and remember Jesus Christ in our lives.
Your child’s baptism is a special time in their life and should be documented and preserved forever. Taking pictures of your child in their special baptism dress or suit will help make the day special. Hopefully, these photos will help remind your child of the particular step they have made, and looking back on the pictures will help them remember the promise they have made with God and all the feelings that come with it.
While it may be easy to snap a few photos on your phone, consider making your child’s day extra special by hiring a photographer. Not only will this take the stress off of you, the parent, but it will also help your child feel special, understand that this step in their life is a big deal, and remember this special time.
I have done quite a few baptism sessions so far, and this is what my friend Hayley said about her daughter’s shoot:
“I was worried our daughter would be upset about having the focus be solely on her (she isn’t one for showing off) or about dressing up. However, she was excited and loved feeling special and beautiful during her photo shoot. Heather is amazing, and the pictures turned out beautiful!”
My goal for these shoots is to make them quick, convenient, and affordable, all while making this a memorable moment for your child. With a fast turnaround time, you can use them for announcements or invitations or print them to display at your child’s baptism.
The perfect backdrop for baptism photos is one of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temples. I will offer these mini sessions at the Saratoga Springs temple (it is beautiful if you haven’t seen it!).
I’m so excited to be a part of your child’s special day; I hope you know how excited I am for them. I’ll be releasing dates for these mini sessions soon, so keep an eye out!
